Are You Suitable For Anti Wrinkle Injections?

author: last updated:

When considering any new treatment, it’s wise to read up in advance (and of course, talk to the experts!). Today, our team are discussing anti-wrinkle injections – so if you’re interested in the procedure, read on to find out more about it.

What are anti-wrinkle injections?

The treatment is one of many facial aesthetic treatments we offer here in Rickmansworth. They’re safe, effective and long-lasting, so you can enjoy your results for months to come.

What does treatment involve?

Firstly, we’ll book you in for a consultation. It’s important to get a picture of your skin health, anticipated results, any medical concerns, and previous (or current) treatments that we might need to take into account. It’s also a great way to get acquainted with each other, and yourself with our skin clinic here in Rickmansworth.

Next, we’ll carry out the treatment. We may use a skin-safe pen to gently mark the areas we’re looking to treat. We’ll then use an extremely fine needle to deliver your anti-wrinkle treatment accurately and comfortably. We can use numbing agents to reduce pain and sensation, too.

Finally, we’ll talk through ways to keep your results looking fantastic and manage any common side effects, like slight swelling, redness, tenderness or bruising. We may even advise when you’ll need further treatment to prolong your results. Our experts at our Rickmansworth skin clinic will happily guide you through every stage of your anti-wrinkle treatment.

Am I suitable for treatment?

Most people are able to have anti-wrinkle injections, but we can assess you fully during your consultation. We’ll need to rule out any potential allergies or possible pregnancy, and of course, if you’re under 18, we won’t be able to carry out the injections. Men and women over this age are usually suitable for the procedure. We can advise you on anything else during the consultation for your anti-wrinkle treatment.

What else can I try?

It really depends on the type of wrinkles you have and whereabouts you have them on your face. It might be that an alternative, like dermal fillers, is recommended. These work to ‘fill’ wrinkles and plump the skin, while anti-wrinkle treatment serves to ‘relax’ the muscles that cause the wrinkles, so they’re two very different treatments.
